cmechals: You might consider Carol Miller.

She seems to me to be by far the most experienced and most knowledgeable on the issues. At a recent pre- primary candidates forum, she was the ONLY candidate who had actually LOOKED at the data and evidence on the economic impacts of LANL. While others were "seeing" a lifeline, an economic engine, positive impacts, Carol was not. She realized (as economic theory expects) that there was no evidence of a positive impact. (in fact, if one correlates LANL budget with relative with median income rank (out of the 50 states), one finds an inverse correlation- the more LANL gets, the poorer is NM.

In addition, she knows her way around DC, often asked to write health care legislation.

Admittedly (and sadly) she is a long shot. But were she to be elected, northern New Mexicans would have outstanding representation, a person who would base decisions on reality rather than ideology and gullibility.

It is a sad commentary that Lujan is the best we could do. His father has a lot of clout, and this also is sad, because he is too often exposed as a weak servant of the special interests. Sadly, he is my Representative.

We are left to hope, in spite of ourselves, that somehow BR Lujan can be an honest and effective servant of our interests, unlike his father.

God help us...
