Funeral services set for Alice King

The body of former New Mexico First Lady Alice King will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the rotunda at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe, the Albuquerque Journal reports.

A service will be held 9 a.m. Thursday in the Moriarty High School gym, which is expected to be filled with about 2,500 people.

King died Sunday evening following a stroke she suffered on Thursday, Dec. 4. She was 78. She was the wife of former Gov. Bruce King and the mother of current state Attorney General Gary King, and will be remembered as a tireless advocate on behalf of children.
