cmoore: It wasn't the wish list that people didn't know about. You misread me. It was Albuquerque's number 5 national ranking, which Forbes noted a couple of weeks before the Journal mentioned it on Christmas Day on page D-1.

If the city's stimulus wish list was news to most people in the state when the Forbes story came out last week, that can only be because, like you, they didn't bother to read the Albuquerque Journal or a pay attention to a host of other local media.
The story of Dan's that you point to was a follow to a story that he and John Fleck wrote in the Dec. 10 Journal. The Independent and most television news reports also had stories at that time.
The Forbes list, of course, came out a full week later.
