NM Dems liven up online presence

The Democratic Party in New Mexico has unveiled a new Web site a month ahead of the June 3 primary election.

The Web site is not only a completely new design, but also boasts a new Web address. The new Democratic Party Web site is www.NMDemocrats.net. The old Web address, www.NMDemocrats.org, redirects to the new site.

The site has been in the making for awhile now.

Josh Geise, executive director of the New Mexico Democratic Party, explains the change. "It’s been awhile since we’ve had a new Web site over here. It started a couple months ago with the design process. And it has a couple of features that our old Web site didn’t, and it’s got increased e-mail capacity and media files and audio files. It has a better look to it."

Geise says readers of the Web site can expect to see more audio and video files featured on the site.

In an e-mail to supporters from the New Mexico Democratic Party, chairman Brian Colón asks for the help of supporters in building early election infrastructure. He went on to write, "We have a historic election in New Mexico and the Democratic Party is preparing now for the fight this fall."

Geise says the Democratic Party Web site will enable the party "to spread our message online through new media as well as the traditional campaign media.”
