President Obama’s first dance

By | 01.21.09 | 12:44 pm

The Huffington Post has the video of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s first dance as president and first lady. “Unsurprisingly,” writes the Huffington Post, “the 44th president is a fine slow dancer.”

The star-studded affair featured Beyonce Knowles singing the Etta James classic “At Last,” and the dance was introduced by Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington.

The dance was at last night’s Neighborhood Ball and was shown on ABC at prime time for America to get a view of the president dancing.

So that brought to mind other famous instances of Obama dancing.

Like the time that Obama danced with Ellen Degeneres on her eponymous daytime talk show. He also danced to a Beyonce song in that 2007 appearance.

Or the viral Obama vs. McCain fake dance video from about a year later, right before the election.

My thoughts on Obama’s dancing? Well, as the old saying goes, those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, so I won’t make any reviews of the presidential couple’s first dance.
