Once again, New Mexicans across the state were deprived of seeing a House committee debate an issue that is vitally important even in these days of budget problems, our governor in the middle of a federal corruption investigation and other pressing issues.

The Santa Fe New Mexican’s Twitter account has the scoop:

House rules committee is debating whether to allow bolo ties as appropriate wear for representatives.


If only we had webcams to see this historic debate! Is the state’s official tie proper wear for representatives? And if so, what will happen if Senate Bill 52 passes — will representatives be able to walk around wearing bolo ties and playing Pimentel Sunrise guitars?
