A joint meeting of the Senate Public Affairs and Judiciary Committees considered domestic partnership Wednesday afternoon at the Roundhouse.

The Domestic Partner Rights and Responsibilities Act (SB 12) was introduced by state Sen. Cisco McSorley, D-Albuquerque, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is also supported by Sen. Dede Feldman, D-Albuquerque, chair of the public affairs committee.

The hearing was heavily attended and highly contentious.
