State House Speaker Ben Lujan just named members to the House Rules subcommittee that is charged with studying whether to webcast in House committees and on the House floor.
The subcommittee is composed of three Republicans and three Democrats and includes Rep. Ray Begaye, D-Shiprock, who expressed concern Tuesday about webcasting and potentially embarrassing moments caught on camera. The example he used was of a sleeping lawmaker captured on camera and how it could be exploited by someone trying to unseat him in an election.
The other members of the subcommittee are:
Reps. Larry Larrañaga, R-Albuquerque; Richard Berry, R-Albuquerque; Kathy McCoy, R-Cedar Crest; Debbie Rodella, D-Española; and House Majority Leader Ken Martinez, D-Grants.
