It’s a good thing for Gov. Bill Richardson that he is not running for anything in the near future — because if he was, it might be a bit of a challenge. According to a recent Survey USA poll, Bill Richardson’s approval rating has dipped below the magic 50 percent barrier.
From KOB-TV:
For the first time since 2005, our exclusive Survey USA poll shows more of New Mexico’s residents disapprove of the governor. About 47 percent of people said they approve of the job Gov. Richardson is doing — down from 59 percent from last month.
The KOB story doesn’t say how many disapprove of Richardson or how many have no opinion. The polling information is not yet up on the SurveyUSA site to analyze where the governor’s popularity dropped off the most.
It’s clear, however, that the pay-to-play allegations in GRIPgate have taken their toll on Richardson’s approval numbers.
