Just more of the same "pay-to-play" stuff that seemed to be how Richardson ran his political system. Amazes me that nothing has ever been discovered that would result in actual charges of corruption.

FYI: Richardson recently appointed Bruce Malotts, brother Alan as a district court judge in Albuquerque. Both brothers gave Richardson $2,300 to his presidential campaign. Draw your own conclusions.

Meyners + Company is a proud, local business that continues to grow and develop both its capabilities and client base lawfully.

All of Meyners state auditing contracts were earned through proper procurement processes and competitive bidding. These are often 50-70 page proposals that are ultimately approved by agency commissions not political appointees.

Conversely, there have been many state auditing contracts that Meyners + Company did not win; instead, they were awarded to other qualified bidders with the skills and staff better suited for particular auditing jobs.

Meyners + Company is not the only or largest company that local and state government contracts with for auditing services. In 2007, four other companies had more state audits than Meyners. Moss Adams, an accounting firm on the west coast, had the most accounting business with public agencies in New Mexico, with over $3 million in contracts in 2007.

Any suggestion that Meyners' business with the State of New Mexico was gained through impropriety of political favor is completely wrong.

"Firms that perform public audits win the work from the Office of the State Auditor"

The current State Auditor received a full 1/3 of his campaign funding from Bill Richardson and/or funds controlled by Bill Richardson. Seems to me if we are going expand public campaign financing the State Auditor's office would be a good place to start.
