Val Kilmer at the Roundhouse — again — but staying mum on gubernatorial run

By | 02.06.09 | 4:39 pm

Actor Val Kilmer better re-think his marketing effort. He’s showing up to the Capitol so often that his appearances are becoming routine.

The actor who would be a politician was back at the Capitol and staying mum on whether he had decided to run for statewide office, specifically for the office of governor.

Me: Have you decided anything?

Kilmer: I decided I’m having tuna instead of steak. No, no, I’m kidding.

Me: So what are you doing up here today?

Kilmer: Just saying “hi” to the governor. I got some Native American friends. Native American day.

(Kilmer was referring to Native American Day at the Capitol.)

So there we go, the entire interview.

One thing I wanted to do and accomplished was to finally tell him face-to-face that I enjoyed him in Real Genius, which as all of you who read my previous blog this week know is a vastly underrated 1985 film about a bunch of brilliant geeks who thwart an evil plot to develop some nasty laser technology.

Kilmer’s response: Thanks.
