It’s Friday the 13th. In case you were wondering, the fear of Friday the 13th is Paraskevidekatriaphobia. I can’t find an official name for “fear of bad horror movies.”

John Fleck was a day ahead of Friday the 13th to scare us with expanding dry conditions in New Mexico. There is good snowpack in the mountains, but the latest drought map “shows expanding abnormally dry conditions across southern New Mexico.”

SFReeper has a novel way to save print newspapers. After a Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper vendor was caught selling heroin, Santa Fe Reporter editor Julia Goldberg said in an e-mail, “WTF!!! That should be OUR turf!” Now you know why NMI is online-only. And you know what they say, great minds think alike.

Former Albuquerque mayor Jim Baca doesn’t like the Republican members of the U.S. House much after their vote against the economic stimulus bill. In a blog post, Baca writes, “The republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives just said f**k you to America.” Yes, he deliberately did not capitalize “Republicans.”
