Ex-state investment officer sues State Investment Council for records

By | 02.18.09 | 2:09 pm

Former state investment officer Frank Foy has filed a complaint to require the State Investment Council to turn over its records, according to his attorney.

Foy and attorney Victor Marshall filed the complaint today. Click here (pdf) to read it.

Marshall and Foy, a former investment officer for the Education Retirement Board, sought records at the agency last week but were denied, according to the complaint.

In addition to its goal of getting the agency’s records, the complaint also seeks to disqualify state investment officer Gary Bland from any involvement in the demand for public records.

Bland is currently facing allegations from Foy in a 26-page civil complaint that alleges Bland pressured his agency to make investments based on who contributed to Gov. Bill Richardson.

Bland has dismissed the allegations in Foy’s civil complaint in the strongest terms.
