I'm starting to think this may not be a series of unfortunate misstatements about the facts and the law.<br><br>Isn't this whole show designed to dare the bill's sponsors to accept a DOMA?<br><br>1) Bill Sharer runs around for a few days with that Arizona lawyer's hand up his back, saying 'this is gay marriage'.<br><br>2) His next move is to make Cisco prove it's not just gay marriage by another name--by welding his Definition of Marriage bill (SB 162) into the DP bill.<br><br>3) Cisco can try to fight off that amendment, but the tactic has already put the Yes votes on the defensive--they have to show that they're not for 'gay marriage' either.<br><br>I'm betting that we can measure the purpose of the action by its results. <br><br>Therefore I predict that by this time tomorrow, we have a DP bill that contains a DOMA being debated on the Senate floor.
