Only Democrats vote against anti-corruption bill

Only Democratic lawmakers at the state Capitol in Santa Fe opposed the bill to give a judge discretion to fine a public official convicted of or pleading guilty to corruption charges.

Fourteen Republicans and 15 Democrats supported the legislation, which is sponsored by state Sen. William Payne, R-Albuquerque.

Here’s a list of those voting against that legislation:

Linda Lopez, D-Albuquerque; Bernadette Sanchez, D-Albuquerque; Mary Jane Garcia, D-Las Cruces; Phil Griego, D-San Jose; Richard Martinez, D-Española; Howie Morales, D-Silver City; George Muñoz, D-Gallup; Cynthia Nava, D-Las Cruces; Michael Sanchez, D-Belen; John Sapien, D-Corrales; David Ulibarri, D-Grants, and Linda Lovejoy, D-Crownpoint.
