Guv would sign open conference committee legislation

Gov. Bill Richardson said Thursday afternoon that he would sign legislation to open special legislative committees that meet behind closed doors into law if it were to pass the Senate.

“Yeah,” the governor said Thursday during a news conference when directly asked if he’d affix his signature.

A bill to open conference committees is on the Senate floor and should come up tonight, Sen. Majority Leader Michael Sanchez, D-Belen, said.
