Vermont Senate overrides guv’s veto of same-sex marriage bill

The Vermont state Senate has just voted 23-5 to override Gov. Jim Douglas‘ veto of same-sex legislation. The House of Representatives now will vote whether to override Douglas’ veto, possibly later this morning.

According to the Burlington Free Press, the vote in the House is too close to call. If the House votes to override, Vermont will become the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage.
