U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman is set to begin podcasting, has started a YouTube channel, and is updating his Facebook page — all to keep his constituents informed on what he and others in Washington, D.C., are doing.
One podcast is the weekly update, which, according to the Web site of New Mexico’s senior senator, “highlights goings-on in Washington and New Mexico.” The second podcast is the Bingaman Policycast, which “focuses on specific policy issues.”
Here is the full message announcing the podcasts on Facebook:
The 111th Congress is off to a busy and productive start, having already passed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act, the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act, and the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act … not to mention the recovery act and the budget! We’ve only begun, though, and I’m looking forward to working on other important legislation, particularly about energy and healthcare.
But it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle, which is one reason I’m podcasting. My “U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman Weekly Podcast” will help you keep up with what’s going on in Washington and New Mexico.
For those of you interested in something a little more in-depth, the “U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman PolicyCast” is a longer podcast focusing on specific policy areas. You can email policy questions to webcomments@bingaman.senate.gov; I might answer you directly in a future podcast!
I encourage you to sign up for either or both podcasts on iTunes, and keep in touch.
Jeff
