TODAY’S BLOG ROUNDUP: Amped up over those tea baggers! And a new plan for CSF

The blog world is blog crazy over the TEA party — as in Taxed Enough Already, according to the protesters.  Several noteworthy responses — from all angles — caught my eye.

Peter St. Cyr gets Greg Zinetti’s take on the TEA Party tax rallies. Zinetti, an New Mexico National Guard General, has recently announced his decision to run for governor next year in the Republican primary.  Zinetti provides the analysis, and explains why he disagrees with the federal stimulus plan.

Also regarding the tea baggers, Clearly New Mexico suggests that the protest is “not about responsible tax policy.”  Tracy Dingmann compares this movement to the original Boston Tea Party event, and discusses the implications of such a comparison.

Meanwhile, the Eye on Albuquerque blog commended the rallies for upholding First Amendment rights and “provided a reason for hope and perhaps the beginnings of change.”

And, in non-tea news, a member of the Christian Brothers, who founded of the College of Santa Fe, suggested a new plan of action to save the school from closure — prayer.  Along with this “leap of faith” of sorts, the school will be bringing in the dough from a religious-based seminar, with topics such as “God’s Great Judgment” and “Satan’s Secret Power.”  SFReeper has the CSF post here.
