Yeah, let's keep it all illegal. A recession is no time to be cutting jobs. Corrections Officers, Judges, patrolmen and detectives, prosecutors and public defenders all depend on the illegal drug trade for continued employment. And the income taxes they pay help support our economy.

And let's face it.... many drug users wouldn't eat square meals or get medical and dental care without incarceration.

Maybe we ought to make what half the population does illegal, and pay the other half to catch them and lock them up, and build and maintain all the prisons and courthouses we'll need. Instant full employment!

To keep a steady supply of new criminals coming, we could have coed prisons. With abortion strictly illegal!

Then we'll have world peace and no poverty. And those in prison won't be able to vote, so there won't be any doubt about keeping things the way they are. This ought to make the traditionalists very happy, and the rest of us won't have to listen to them talk about how things would be better if we could get back to those values that made this country great. Like segregation, Prohibition, children working in coal mines, people smoking in supermarkets and hospitals..... you know, the good old days!

For those who've opposed legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes, thereby insuring suffering in the final days of life for those afflicted by cancer, I ask you: How are you going to make this up to those who suffered, and those who watched their loved ones beg for relief? Is your tradition, your intransigence, your fear of the unknown, so firm that you can't entertain the possibility that you've been mistaken, prejudiced, or simply ignorant?

Or….. If you're a religious person and wouldn't recognize scientific evidence if it bit you on the tongues, ask yourself: Is there anything Jesus wouldn't have done to relieve this suffering?

Production and sale of marijuana to adults should be legal.

Prohibition has failed to rid our country of marijuana, millions of people currently use it every day, and millions more will continue to use it every day until the end of time. Prohibition is a failure, and its supporters are liars when they tell you that prohibition is doing our country some kind of good. It is not!

The prohibition puts drug dealers in your children's schools and was the sole incentive for the 6,000 cartel murders last year. It is a deadly failure that delivers absolutely no benefit to our country.

End the Prohibition. Fire the people who support it, and LEGALIZE MARIJUANA!!!
