TODAY’S BLOG ROUNDUP: The all-over-the-map edition

We’re headed all over the place in this roundup of what’s going on the blogosphere, but let’s start with Earth Day (which, by the way, is tomorrow). SFReeper.com gives the facts on the day and activities planned in Santa Fe.And two state lawmakers author a guest column published today on Democracy for New Mexico about Earth Day and the “new reality in New Mexico.”

Last, the Wall Street Journal has an article today on “America’s newest profession,” which is, of course, blogging for money. There are now 20 million bloggers in America, with 1.7 million profiting from their work. Some 452,000 — including me, by the way — use blogging as their primary source of income.

“If journalists were the Fourth Estate, bloggers are becoming the Fifth Estate,” the article states.
