GOP challenger for Martin Heinrich?

Blogger Joe Monahan wrote this morning that funeral home owner Kevin Daniels is considering running against Congressman Martin Heinrich in 2010.

Daniels, who owns Daniels Family Funeral Services, “is seriously weighing a run for the GOP nomination” according to Monahan and his anonymous insiders.
Heinrich is a first-term Representative, and the first Democrat to ever hold the Albuquerque-based swing district. Heinrich, a former Albuquerque city councilor, defeated Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White 55.65 percent to 44.35 percent last November.

Though Daniels is reportedly seeking the Republican nomination, Monahan notes that Daniels contributed $500 to Gov. Bill Richardson’s presidential campaign.
