Considering that Specter left the GOP mainly because he figured he wasn't going to win the primary, I'd say it will be quite a blow to the poor old guy if he doesn't manage to win as a Democrat either.

More people should start to come out of the ether when all of Obama's pork and welfare fails to generate any real economic gains... just in time for 2010 mid-terms. And it seems he's headed for an international embarassment soon.

In three years, people will wince at the very mention of the name "Obama"- and the GOP could win 40 states running Gilbert Gottfried.

Obama deserves support from the people that elected him for a bit more than 100 days. The (God, Gays, Guns) GGGOPers don't have to agree with him at 100 days or 1000 days. He is trying to get this country out of the mess the Bush Administration left behind.

The GGGopers are stuck with their issues that most Americans have all ready made up their minds

Ditch the hardcore bible-thumpers and conspiracy nuts in your party and you may see some independents move back into the fray. Otherwise, be prepared for more Specter departures and election disappointments. If Sarah Palin remains the virtual champion of the conservative cause, don't expect to capture more than circa 45% of the vote nationally.

Do you really think Specter will now be a hard left Dem? I really doubt that. If anything, he will slow the Obama train wreck down by joining the other sensible, more middle-of-the-road Dems in the Senate.

It will be interesting to see if he wins reelection in Pennsylvania – same with Chris Dodd in Connecticut.
