There are still no confirmed cases of the swine flu in New Mexico, and the state is still waiting on the results of the two cases sent to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on Wednesday.

There were three five new suspected cases reported today according to the N.M. Department of Health:

  • 15-year-old female from Valencia County
  • 17-year old female from Eddy County
  • 15-year old male from Eddy County
  • 17-year old male from Hidalgo County
  • 27-year old male from Bernalillo County

The Department of Health also lists all of those previously identified as “probable” cases to be “recovering.”

Nationwide, there are 141 confirmed cases of the swine flu according to the CDC. There has been one death, a toddler from Mexico visiting Texas.

The N.M. Department of Health statement says, “The best thing you can do is wash your hands frequently, cover your cough with a tissue or your arm and stay home when you are sick. If sick with fever and cough or sore throat, call doctor for advice.”
