Guv’s tweet: Taos, Raton want Rail Runner

The New Mexico Rail Runner Express currently runs from Belen to Santa Fe, with eleven total stops.

According to Gov. Bill Richardson’s Twitter account, members of the Taos and Raton communities want to see the Rail Runner expand further in Northern New Mexico, beyond just Santa Fe.

This year, Rep. Robert Gonzales (D-Taos) introduced House Joint Memorial 22 to study the feasibility of extending the Rail Runner from Santa Fe to Taos. The bill died in the Corporations and Transportation committee.
