Val Kilmer tells New York magazine he’s not running for governor

By | 05.11.09 | 9:47 pm

This weekend, Val Kilmer was caught on video saying that he was “probably not” going to run for governor in 2010. Now according to New York magazine, he appears to have made us his mind while attending Tammy Haddad’s star-studded garden brunch.

From New York magazine:

Val Kilmer, who was circulating among media types like Chuck Todd, David Gregory, Greta van Susteren, and John King at Tammy Haddad’s garden brunch, told New York the truth about his much-reported ambitions to run for governor of New Mexico. “Well, I’m running. I don’t know if it’s in circles or not,” he said, laughing. “No, I’m not.”

Of course, the news won’t be complete until Kilmer comes out and just says, “I’m not running for governor in 2010.” Or, on the other hand, that he is running for governor.

If you asked me a month ago if I thought Kilmer would run, I would have said “yes” with 90 percent certainty. Now, if you ask me, I say “no” with 99 percent certainty.
