The question was, "Why is single payer off the plate?" Obama responded by giving his policy views on why he didn't support it. But Obama has also emphasized, over and over again, that in the health care reform process, everyone should have a seat at the table, and the process is transparent. <br><br>Obama can't have it both ways. Either the single payer advocates, who are quite substantial in number, get a seat at the table, or the only people with a seat at the table are those who Obama picks and chooses. That's neither open not transparent. Actually, Obama didn't answer the question on single payer.
