Obama praises N.M. congressional delegation on credit card reform

When Barack Obama spoke on credit card reform today, he gave praise to all three members of the New Mexico House delegation for their votes on the issue last week. He also said that both U.S Senators from New Mexico “stand on your side” on the issue.

Video from Congressman Ben Ray Lujan’s YouTube page is above, and here’s the part from the White House transcript:

New Mexico, you should be proud that you’ve elected people, as I said before — Ben Ray Luján, Martin Heinrich, Harry Teague — (applause) — who stood up for you by voting for that bill. (Applause.) Even as we speak, the Senate is debating its version of the bill, and I know your senators, Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall, stand on your side, too. (Applause.)

Democracy for New Mexico might have something to say about Bingaman, though.

And as for the mispronunciation, I feel your pain, Representative Heinrich. I can count on one hand how many times people have pronounced “Reichbach” correctly on the first try.
