NMI’s Gwyneth Doland to receive AltWeekly Award

NMI’s Gwyneth Doland will soon be presented with a highly coveted AltWeekly Award, the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies announced yesterday.

Specifically, Doland — a veteran alternative weekly journalist — will win an award for Devour: A Locavore’s Guide to Santa Fe, a special issue of the Santa Fe Reporter that she created while special sections editor at the paper.She will share the award with SFR art director Larry Kohr and cover designer Angela Moore. Doland left the Santa Fe Reporter last year to join NMI. The AltWeekly Awards will be announced on June 26 in Tucson, Arizona.

Congrats, Gwyneth!

By the way, the Santa Fe Reporter (where I also once worked) leads the small paper division in announced winners, and will receive at least five awards in the 14th annual AltWeekly Awards. SFR staff writer Dave Maass will be honored for his “format buster” cover story about zombies, “Things to Do in Santa Fe When You’re Undead.”
