I am happy to pay taxes that are actually used to support my fellow citizens, but try to follow this crazy, PRIVATIZED-FOR PROFIT downward spiral--all geared toward PRIVATE COMPANIES MAKING HUGE PROFITS from OUR TAXES: Our tax dollars are "awarded" to ValuOptions or OptumHealth who hire people to provide mental health "care" to New Mexicans. They hire A LOT of Medicaid (a good tax-supported system)and Insurance (more private dollars) "processors" who make sure that profits are generated that are minimally used to pay themselves modest salaries, but MAINLY to support the HEADS/CEO's, who take their obviously-huge salaries/bonuses (that we taxpayers pay) to INFLUENCE EVERY POLITICIAN's (because they must play the campaign finance fiasco) "inner circle" friends/lobbyists who are paid to help them get or maintain the contracts that pay them the huge PROFITS made from the suffering of our fellow New Mexicans. WHY are we allowing this racket? Until WE the PEOPLE start pushing for DIRECT GOVERNMENT SERVICES, and PUBLICLY-FINANCED ELECTION CAMPAIGNS, rather than FOR-PROFIT PRIVATE companies that bleed us dry by playing the influence game, we, fellow New Mexicans and Americans, are SCREWED!!!
