This does not surprise me at all. I used to walk my first dog at UNM's golf course twice a day and she was constantly being bothered and attacked by dogs who had idiot owners that felt that the leash law did not apply to them. Vet bills began piling up due to the attacks and UNM's "police" department did nothing at all about it Until dog owners begin acting more responsibly, this will become a trend.

I now carry something on me to seriously injure or kill another dog that is not on a leash that approaches me and my dogs. Once a dog owner lets their dogs off leash in areas that have leash laws, they give up all rights to their dog's well being.

Well they now allow guns & hunting onto our public lands....is that not "an accident waiting to happen?" Id rather take my chances with a pack of dogs than with one crazy gun-totin' kill-happy hunter.

Maybe they want the dogs off the land cause they chase the ATVs and other ORVs that are now also allowed on our publc lands.
