TODAY’S TOP STORIES: Smart tech, Rail Runner news and calling all N.M. dentists

The New Mexico Business Weekly is reporting on IBM’s $5M set aside for “smart” loans.  Most of these funds will lend money or credit lines to customers and health-care providers developing “smart technology.”
 
The newest Rail Runner Express train station is nearing completion, according to a story in the Santa Fe New Mexican. Expected to begin service sometime between July and August, the new station will provide service to Santa Fe’s south side just off I-25.

Over on KUNM radio, both of New Mexico’s U.S. senators — Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall — weigh in on President Obama’s pick to be the next associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor.

The Alamogordo Daily News reports on Congressman Harry Teague’s plans to help small business during difficult economic times.

And lastly, the Associated Press has a story on the possibility of opening a dental school in New Mexico.  Recognizing the fact that the state has the fewest number of dentists per capita, Gov. Bill Richardson and Sen. Bingaman are looking to gather more information, including where the new school might be located.
