N.M. congressional Dems to get fundraising help from CO’s Jared Polis

All three members of New Mexico’s U.S. House delegation will be among the 29 House Democrats who will get help with fundraising from Congressman Jared Polis.

Polis, like Congressmen Martin Heinrich, Harry Teague and Ben Ray Lujan, is a freshman Democrat. He also happens to be the first openly gay man to win a seat in Congress. Polis is in a safe Democratic district, which President Barack Obama won by a 64 percent to 34 percent margin over Sen. John McCain according to Swing State Project.

The three New Mexico Democrats will each receive 2.93 percent of the money donated to the Jared Polis Victory Fund.

CQ Politics reports that, “Last September, one month after Polis narrowly won a three-candidate Democratic primary that was in effect the general election, he transferred $100,000 to the DCCC.” Clearly, Polis is adept at fundraising online, and he is looking (to use a phrase that Joe the Plumber will object to) to spread the wealth to his fellow Democrats.
