The State Cultural Properties Act  trigger consultations with the SHPO on State permitting actions, but does not provide for preservation of listed properties.  It is possible for mining permits to be issued after consultations between SHPO and Tribes.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mt. Taylor has not gained protection only a listing.</description>
