UPDATE: The governor’s office said Friday afternoon that the governor had previous commitments, which is why he didn’t attend the event Friday at UNM featuring Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

According to his office, Richardson was in Truth or Consequences to attend the U.S. Border Patrol Change of Command Ceremony and to announce the Western State Boating Officer of the Year Award.
