gop-elephant-imageYet another political Web site is up and running at gopnm.com.

The New Mexico Republican Party has drastically updated their site. In a press release (pdf), the party says, “The site’s restructure underscores the Party’s renewed commitment to communicating its conservative message to voters statewide.”

“We hope that loyal supporters and first-time visitors alike will find the website informative and useful,” the state party’s executive director Ryan Cangiolosi said in the statement. “It is the Party’s intent to use this site as a way to connect directly with New Mexicans throughout the state.”

The site includes a pages for each county.

The site is fully functional and a cursory look shows no dead links or other problems which plagued the old version of the state Republican Party’s Web site after it was no longer being updated.

The New Mexico Republican Party is also on the social networking bandwagon, with a Twitter account, a Facebook page and accounts with a few more Web 2.0 sites.

And, with the launch of the new site, it seems clear that the Republican tactic is to focus on corruption. On the “What We Are Up Against” page, the party lists “corruption” and “unending corruption” as things the New Mexico Republican Party is up against.
