Don't you ignorant libs have the NPR? We don't try to get on there because only 3 people a day listen. You idiots would much rather listen to your flute and drum music than to inform your self with facts. We wouldn't listen to any of your ignorant lib speakers either, i can only take so much whining and baby chatter a day, and libs take it to the squeeking brake level. If you really want, i'm sure we could arrange for you to appear on the Jim Villanucci show on KKOB, but i'm sure you wouldn't want to let your 3 listeners down by unmasking your true inner ignorance. Buy a gun, shoot an animal, grill it and eat it. Don't try to take away the rights of a private business, in case you haven't noticed, small business advertises on KKOB, and they see a great return for their investment. If we let you take over, how many small companies do you think you could get to advertise with you if you hate capitalism? Um Um Um Um Uh ( do I sound like Obumma?), the answer is 0.

Forced liberal leftist propaganda doesn't sell. Nobody listens to it and advertisers wont want to be charged big bucks to sell to freeloaders and moochers. Those folks don't wanna buy anything, anyway. They want us producers to give it away to them for free. I certainly will not be listening to leftist propaganda artists telling their lies. Colorado has a state law that prohibits out-of-state corporations from selling alcoholic beverages at more than one location. The law works well, Colorado still has many small local liquor stores and has not been taken over by giant distribution chains. It is both advantageous to the communities AND perfectly legal. There is no reason the same kind of law cannot be enacted for media outlets inside New Mexico, or any other state.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt if the Federales endorsed such a policy.

If by “liberal” you mean expanding government intrustion I would agree, but Bush II was really the main perpetrator. I agree with Gnarlodious that decentralization of power is the real issue.
“Conservative” and “liberal” have become meaningless as both parties push for more government power. We need to start looking at where things lie on the Totalitarian – Libertarian scale.

I cannot imagine a slippery slope than allowing politicians and bureaucrats to decide what is “fair and balanced”.

It is also fair to point out that this country is becoming more liberal by the day, despite the “damage” done by a preponderance of conservative talk radio.

But more effective than the Fairness Doctrine, which is already a good idea, would be to break up multistate ownership of mass media. AKA “monopolies”, remember that word? That means that Citadel, which owns KKOB, would be sold off to a local business which would be much more likely to broadcast local shows in the community interest. Along with the Fairness Doctrine, these two changes would radically improve radio programming across the board.
