One of the Albuquerque Journal’s syndicated conservative voices is coming to Albuquerque. Syndicated columnist Jonah Goldberg is the keynote speaker Friday (Sept. 19) at a breakfast event co-hosted by The Rio Grande Foundation and the New Mexico Prosperity Project. While this is a chance for Goldberg’s followers to hear him speak, it might be a good chance for others who have some questions for the National Review contributing editor and the founder of the National Review Online.
Of late, he more resembles the president of the Sarah Palin fan club. In one of his recent columns he says, "In the wake of Palin’s performance (at the Republican National Convention), there’s vastly more support among conservatives for flipping the McCain-Palin ticket to the Palin-McCain ticket. Send McCain to attend the funerals and cut the ribbons! Put the lipsticked pit bull at the lead of the Alaskanized GOP sled!"
He’s also denigrated Gloria Steinem in another of his columns.
If you want to hear, or even get Goldberg to answer a few questions (wouldn’t that be something), the event begins at 7 a.m. at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North, 5151 San Francisco NE. The event is $40. For information, call Paul Gessing at (505) 264-6090. For reservations or additional information, visit www.riograndefoundation.org.
