U.S. House to vote on climate bill by Friday

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House will vote on a climate bill by Friday, the Dow Jones Newswires reported Monday evening.

Democratic leadership were perhaps encouraged by Congressional Budget Office estimates that showed the legislation would have a modest economic impact on American households.

The bill would cut greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide, by more than 80 percent by 2050.

A spokesman for Pelosi told the Dow Jones Newswires that there are still some issues under discussion but that Democratic leadership is “confident” the differences will be resolved in time for a Friday vote.
