TODAY’S BLOG ROUNDUP: Heath care reform and crashing the TEA party!

By | 07.02.09 | 1:54 pm

The blogs, they are a’dualing here in New Mexico today.  Bloggers face off over two important topics blowing up the news. First off, health care reform.

From Clearly New Mexico, Tracy Dingmann tells of President Obama’s visit to a Virginia town hall meeting regarding what to do with national health care options and a push toward the public option. Organizing for America, Obama’s grassroots political organizing arm, has put together a collection of personal stories lending a voice to the public’s healthcare woes.

Then we move to New Mexico Liberty’s critique of an Albuquerque Journal article written by John R. Hall who claims that drug and insurance companies, along with the media, are the main entities standing against universal healthcare. The blog is not so quick to accept Obama’s plans, calling universal healthcare “socialized medicine” and signs off with these sentiments:

Hopefully political reality finishes the job in killing a drastic move towards further socialization of our health care

Next, state Sen. Dede Feldman, an Albuquerque Democrat, posts her KUNM interview after her consultation with U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Katleen Sebelius regarding New Mexico’s role and position on heath care reform.

And on to another topic of discussion, the TEA Party is back!

Visiting Democracy for New Mexico today will link you up with varying commentary on the TEA Party movement’s recent protests of taxation and other issues.  See why

the rude and ill-informed, mostly right-wing malcontents showing up at New Mexico political events ready to howl, yell and put their parroted Limbaugh taking points on infinite repeat definitely need to chill.

For more views on the topic, look to this blogs links to FBIHOP and Uncle Sam’s Taver’s blogs taking varying stances on recent  TEA Party outcries.

Lastly, if you’ve had enough of these issues, local radio reporter and blogger extraordinaire Peter St. Cyr tells all about what Heather Wilson is up to these days.
