Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez has given the time and location of his highly anticipated announcement that he’ll run for re-election to local blogger, Joe Monahan.

Monahan says his “senior political sources” gave him the news that the announcement will occur at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Don Newton (Taylor Ranch) Community Center. But we figure the mayor doesn’t just let this information leak out randomly.

You know, the buck stops at the top — Marty has basically been outed as an alligator.

No worries, we aren’t offended that we didn’t get to break the news. After all, we handled the online announcement.
