Last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said there would be no vote on the health care reform bill before the Senate goes home for August recess. Now, the same can be said in the House as well, according to Politico.
Media outlets had already reported that it looked less and less likely that the House would vote on the health care bill before the scheduled August 7 recess, but a memo obtained by Politico confirms that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t keep the House in session after the August 7 recess to vote on a health care reform bill.
President Barack Obama had asked for legislation to be passed before the August recess.
