As former U.S. Attorney David Iglesias continues his impromptu media tour following a document dump and the release of House Judiciary Committee testimony by Karl Rove and Harriet Miers, he told Talking Points Memo that he “feel[s] one hundred percent vindicated.”
Iglesias says that the documents show, despite Rove’s insistence to the contrary, that he was more than just a “conduit” of complaints from state Republican officials to White House officials and the U.S. Department of Justice .
“Conduit, schmonduit,” Iglesias said.
Iglesias also threw barbs at Pat Rogers, (“Rogers would have done their bidding”) and the New Mexico Republicans who accused him of wrongdoing. Meanwhile, he was happier with the Democrats in Congress. “I’m so grateful to [House Judiciary committee chair John] Conyers and his staff for being persevering and getting to the bottom of it,” Iglesias told TPM.
Two names that never appeared in the Talking Points Memo blog post? Heather Wilson or Pete Domenici.
