The New Mexico Human Services Department will hold a series of four public meetings around the state to get input on potential cuts to Medicaid, the state’s low-income health insurance program.
The state could face a $300 million shortfall in the program come Jan. 1, 2011, and that has led state officials to propose severe spending cuts.
There will be four public meetings. They are:
Sept. 23, at the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum in Albuquerque, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sept. 24, at the Garrey Carruthers State Library in Santa Fe on tribal issues, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sept. 28, at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum Theater in Las Cruces, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sept. 30, at the SPO Auditorium in Santa Fe, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will also be a Medicaid Advisory Committee Oct. 19 in Room 309 at the State Capitol in Santa Fe.
