There was a time when a great many Democrats and liberals found John McCain to be "republican with honor," and "a republican to support," - even the MSM found him to be endearing - because he routinely bucked the system and fought against the "lost boys" of the GOP who became gluttonous spendthrifts.

Now that John McCan is the GOP nominee however - all those who found him to be such an endearing individual have deicded he's - the devil, after all.

Could it be that the lust for power that possesses the DNC has tainted the picture? Could it be that partisanship runs rampant within the bowels of all liberals?

I'm really curious about this anomaly - when many Republicans found McCain to be distainful because of his "reaches across the aisle" (which means capitulation and appeasement because liberals do not modify their socialist views) and many liberals embraced his "maverick" spirit - he was the darling of the media and even John Kerry considered him as a running mate for the VP slot.

Now however, there's the "we need to control everything" mentality - so McCain becomes just more of the same - at least, that's what the populace is being told by the MSM (the same MSM that used to admire his "maverick" style and courage).

Of course, when you look at McCain's overall voting record (past eight years), he really didn't "vote with Bush" 90+% of the time - it's been more like 70% or so (he is a Republican, after all).

So now, the "annointed one" who has about 143 days of experience is "the guy." Obama is your guy. A guy who has no bi-partisan experience (which you secretly like), a guy who has no real executive experience (no sweat - we'll surround him with elitists who know what's best for the common folk), and if Obama is elected, welcome to the era of American Socialism. Many of you find that to be attractive. And, that's your right to be a socialist in this country. I just hope and pray that there are still enough critical thinkers (who vote) who are not swallowing this pill without giving some serious thought to the ramifications of an Obama Presidency.

And "Mr. Jeeter" - although you're now "following my posts," (according to an e-mail alert I received) I'm really not interested in anything you might have to offer as a reply to this - I know where you stand. You are obviously a socialist, and hate all things conservative. And you are entitled to your views. If you are compelled to write some attempted witticism in response, you also have that freedom (at this time, anyway) to do so. But you will not change my mind, or "win" this argument from my perspective. My opinions are just that. Yours are also just that - your opinions.

McCain at one time seemed like a person with honor, a proud history and a tremendous heart and love for his country.

Now he seems like a desperate and hateful man.

I don't know if it's McCain's "handlers" who've convinced him to take this gutter road or if it comes directly from him. Whatever the cause, he's promoting a kind of America that terrifies me, that stands for atavistic mentality of Us vs Them. Our country won't survive this sort of divisiveness.

I don't want someone who tacitly contributes to violence, to hatred and lying to be my president.

Oh, and btw, Why isn't McCain talking at all about what he and Sarah Palin DO stand for?

'At that, audience members began yelling “Fight, fight,” “He’s a pansy” and “Socialist.”'??????

Who were these cretins? Do you have any idea? Did they import 3rd-grade bullies from Texas for the audience? It seems almost inconceivable that these brutes were drawn from New Mexico.

And, Trip, I notice you didn't mention the audience member who shouted out that Obama was a "terrorist" in response to McCain's query of who Obama was. And playground bully McCain just smiled at this slur and went on.

McCain's failure to correct this slobbering shouter has been widely reported around the US and is but another example of how low the GOP "hero" is willing to stoop in order to win this presidential campaign. Gaffes like this are one reason McCain is losing support all over the country. His campaign is out of control and spinning downward fast.

McCain now represents the worst in America at a time when America is trying to wake from the sick nightmare of the Bush Administration. Who wants another lowest-common-denominator president?
