"... 1993 mayoral portrait in which Chavez is already a grey-haired mayor."
"Chavez’s official New Mexico Senate photo dating back to the late 1980s, ...dark hair and a lot of it."

Depending on what you take late 1980s to mean, it appears to be five or six years. I would suppose the most politicians use old pictures of themselves, why not Chavez?

Ched--

I think you're a little turned around here. Alire-Garcia posted a still from the ad, which shows a photo of Chavez with gray hair and a receeding hairline. That photo is recent; the photo of him next to "1993" (with plenty of dark hair) was actually from the late 1980s. That's about a 20 year span there.

It occurs to me; you say the photo was used in the late 80s, but five years later, Marty Chavez is a gray haired old mayor.

Unless Chavez aged remarkably over that five years, or the photo of himself that he was using in his campaign, is of a younger than real time Chavez.

If true, that would mean the Chavez used a younger looking picture of Chavez to make Chavez appear younger than he really was-the charge you level against Berry.

Marty Chavez is using a photograph as part of his campaign which is clearly not a recent picture. This would seem to be equally dishonest, although all candidates seem to think it is ok to use their highschool graduation pictures on campaign literature.

Their seems to be a double standard here.

If a candidate has to tell people that he is honest, then I immediately suspect that candidate is just the opposite....kind of like "Honest Jim's Car Sales." The psychological reaction is to question the honesty of the person claiming to be honest.
