Radio personality Don Imus, who owns a New Mexico ranch dedicated to children in need, is back on TV for the first time since MSNBC dropped him in April of 2007 after a controversy involving the Rutgers women’s basketball team.
Imus is on Fox Business News, a channel made by News Corp. to compete with CNBC, simulcasting his radio program.
“The perception is that even their news is skewed toward opinion — not when I watch it,” Imus said of Fox, according to the Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz. “It’s a fair news organization. It’s not my job to defend them. But I’m more likely to believe Shep Smith than Katie Couric or Brian Williams. Their news is advertiser-driven.”
Imus had high profile rant attacking Governor Bill Richardson when he called the governor a “fat sissy” and told him to “kiss my ass” in Spanish over funding for a community center in Ribera, New Mexico, near Imus’ ranch.
Afterwards, the two made up and Richarsdon appeared on Imus’ program, which was then broadcast on Citadel Radio.
