ABQ Elections: Benton, Lewis winning City Council races

With 20 of 22 precincts reporting in Albuquerque City Council District 3, incumbent City Councilor Isaac Benton is headed to an easy victory over challenger Alan Armijo, 60.39 percent to 39.61 percent. In Albuquerque City Council District 5, challenger Dan Lewis leads incumbent Michael Cadigan 55.51 percent to 44.49 percent, with 12 of 17 precincts counted.

The only other city council race with two candidates on the ballot, District 9, has Don Harris beating David Barbour 79.08 percent to 20.92 percent with 18 out of 19 precincts reporting.

All the other questions on the ballot are currently passing, with 161 out of 186 precincts reporting.

So far, there are 74,668 votes counted.
