Roughly one quarter of University of New Mexico students are unimpressed with the state’s flagship public school, according to a survey that questioned college students about their higher education experiences.

Guv will present counter-proposal tomorrow before session; New start time is 2 p.m.

Governor Bill Richardson announced Friday afternoon that he will present a counter-proposal to Democratic and Republican caucuses in the House and Senate before the start of the special session Saturday. He also pushed back the start time of the session from noon until 2 p.m.

Earlier in the afternoon Richardson met with legislative leaders to discuss a proposal they put forward. That plan would have cut $74.3 million from state agencies, $90 million from K-12 public education and $32 million from higher education without cutting state workers’ salaries by a 2.5 percent or raising taxes.You should follow NMI on Twitter and become a fan of NMI on Facebook.
