Governor Johnson also practiced this trick of claiming that the Governors office had reduced staff, while it really stayed the same. Every agency had employees on the books who worked in the Governors office every day, doing a job someone in the previous administration had done as official Governors employees. Even one of the PIO positions at State Police was sent over there, it is an old practice and disappointing that Susana is doing it too. As for Gary King's office, he even had the nerve to fudge his legal reviews to the legislature on the bill to ban this, as reported by Heath Hausseman, in order to protect his own double dippers, all campaign workers and contributors.

Type your comment here. Keep digging: DFA: Debra Griego; CYFD: William Dunbar, Angela Adams (was in an exempt and then moved to a classified position to allow the double dip), David Martinez. CYFD is paying for Governor Office positions for the Children's Cabinet and DV coordinator (Sharon Pino). This is to allow the Governor to claim that he is not filling positions and that his office's financial house is in order. His appointments are sprikled through state government.

That is a great post! They want more! You hit the nail on the head, they will grab and grab until, we, the citizens, put a stop to it.

Haven't they said this is to keep people with special skills, who could often make much more on the open market? Also, people can un-retire if they get another job.

Why don't we pay attention to the many more double-dippers from the military, and from police and fire departments?

By the way, the Carpentere Union contract forbids this for their members. I don't know how many other unions do.

So, while there is widespread unemployment, a hiring freeze at the state, and few opportunities for talented younger workers to better themselves - 9% of the state workforce double dips. Have they no conscience?
